Obituary

Austin Emanuel Williams was born on September 15, 1944, in Parham, Antigua — the island's oldest town, a serene coastal village rooted in faith, family, and timeless island values. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 11th, 2025.

During Austin's prime, he was known as the local postman in Parham and was affectionately nicknamed "Balis." In his younger days, Austin was also an avid soccer player in Parham, proudly playing as a goalkeeper. His love for sports and the community shaped much of his early life.

Austin moved to the U.S. in the early 1970s, initially residing in New York, before settling permanently in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He worked in the refinery plants of Southwest Louisiana for several decades until his retirement with Turner Industries in 2017.

In his free time, Austin enjoyed fishing, going on walks, and spending quality moments with his family. He took great pride in providing for his loved ones and ensuring they had a life filled with stability and opportunity, surpassing the experiences of his own youth.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maribeth Williams; daughter, Ashley Williams, and her husband, Devin Williams; and son, Andy Williams. He is preceded in death by his mother, Claribeth Drew, father, George Williams; and brother, Brooks.

Austin will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who cherished his strength, humor, and devotion to family. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love and support during this difficult time.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Christian World, 2001 East Gauthier Rd, Lake Charles, Louisiana. Pastor Jerry Snider, Jr. will be officiating. Interment will follow at Consolata Cemetery, 2300 Country Club Rd, Lake Charles, Louisiana.
