Obituary

Anna Mae Granger Pickett, 84 was born July 21,1941 and passed away August 31, 2025, peacefully at Kinder Retirement and Rehabilitation Center, at the age of 84, surrounded by family.


Anna Mae was a rock for her family, she was loving, funny, feisty, and a bit stubborn. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and wife. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, collecting family history, and volunteering for her church parish - St. Paul's Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and a door greeter until she retired. She also served the community through a local commodity program for 18 years. What she loved most was spending time with her loved ones and the good Lord. She will truly be missed by those who loved her.


Anna Mae was married to Henry Luther Pickett in 1957 and together they raised six children. They loved watching the addition of grand and great grand-children and seeing them grow.

She is survived by her two daughters, Rosemary Pickett Cormier and husband Felton of Jennings.; and Melissa Ann Pickett of Elton; three sons, Charles Luther Pickett of Ragley, Jeffery Joseph Pickett and wife Sonya of Carencro, and Hiram Lee Pickett and wife Shelly of Jasper, Texas. Two siblings, Joseph Granger of Lake Arthur, and Gladys Granger Gary and husband Billy of Hathaway.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladu Granger and Felicia Allen Granger; her loving husband, Henry Luther Pickett; her son, Michael James Pickett Sr. her grand-daughter, Miranda Pickett; her brothers, Claude Granger, Duddly Granger, and Paul Granger; her sisters, Agnes Granger Guidry, Lucille Marie Granger Pickett, Sedonia Marie Granger Deshotel, and Lena Mae Granger Trahan.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Reed Chapel at Riley Smith & Sons. A rosary will be held at 1:30 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Deacon Michael Guillory will be officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery.


The family would like to thank the staff of Lafayette General Hospital, Kinder Retirement and Brighton Bridge Hospice for the loving care you gave to our mother. Also a thank you to all that prayed, called, and texted to check on us during the last several weeks.
