Anita Crystell Gilbert Miller was born to Joseph Miller Gilbert and Irene Estelle Windsor Gilbert on December 27, 1942, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She passed from this life on August 1, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas.
Anita graduated from Smiley High School in Houston, Texas. She married James Curtis Miller on October 14, 1961. Their family grew to include two children, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Anita was a homemaker and devoted herself to caring for her husband and children. She was well known as a good cook, who loved to feed people. Her legacy extends far beyond her family, as she left an indelible mark on the lives of countless people who loved and admired her.
Anita loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church for most of her life
Anita is survived by her husband, James Miller; sister, Judy Gilbert Jolley (Roger); daughter, Sandra Miller Rhoads (Phillip); son, James Richard "Rick" Miller (Sharon); grandchildren: Justin Rhoads, Melissa Rhoads-Jaquez, Paul Miller, Kristin Rhoads-Ikerd, Jason Rhoads, Marshall Miller, Dawson Miller, and Brenham Miller; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In her last years Anita dealt with debilitating health issues. Her family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Park Manor in The Woodlands for their excellent care.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Conroe United Pentecostal Church, 1612 Oddfellow Street, Conroe, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7, 2025, at South Park Cemetery, Pearland, Texas.
