Obituary

Aaron Higginbotham was born March 31, 1994, and passed away October 17, 2026, at the age of 32.

Aaron was a kind, generous, and thoughtful person with a bright spirit and a big smile that could light up a room. He was loved by many and blessed with a wonderful circle of friends who brought joy to his life.

Aaron had a love for art and enjoyed collecting paintings and other art pieces, even creating a few sketches of his own. He was also talented with the organ and piano and found great joy in serving through the music ministry. He shared his musical gifts by playing for various church functions and participated in several mission trips, reflecting his heart for serving others.

For most of his adult life, Aaron worked in the banking industry, where he worked his way up and has been serving as branch manager for JD Bank in Lake Charles. He took pride in his work and in the relationships he built along the way.

Aaron loved to travel and especially enjoyed going on cruises, making memories and experiencing new places. Among the many special relationships in his life, he shared a particularly close bond with his nephew, Grayson, who held a special place in his heart.

Aaron will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, talent, and the love he shared with those around him. His warm smile, friendship, and caring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The memories he created and the lives he touched will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Meloney Higginbotham; sister, Candis Higginbotham-Pullard; nephew, Grayson Pullard; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Ebare; uncles, Jacky Higginbotham, Chris Higginbotham (Vickie), Jerry Higginbotham, and Shannon Bailey; aunt, Tina Mascorro (Francisco); along numerous cousins, friends, and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dorothy and George Bailey; and paternal grandfather, Sherrell "Boyd" Higginbotham.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
