Gerald Robert Perkins was born January 11, 1938, and passed away March 2, 2023, at the age of 85. Gerald proudly served in the United States Army. He was the umpire for Dixie Youth Baseball for 30 years. He was also a deacon at the First Baptist Church in DeQuincy, Louisiana.

He is survived by his daughter, Hilda Marie Day and husband, Dean; grandchildren, David Day and wife, Katina, Michael Day and wife, Tiffany, and Stephen Day; great grandchildren, Dylan, Marie, Adalynn, and Cecilia.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Perkins; and his parents, Ras and Hilda Perkins.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service starting at 2:00 p.m., March 4, 2023, at First Baptist Church in DeQuincy, Louisiana. Rev. David Ernest and Rev. Gil Arthur will be officiating. Interment to follow at Big Woods Cemetery, Vinton, Louisiana.
